10. The Living Skyscrapers of Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe's termite mounds, particularly those found in national parks, are often referred to as nature's skyscrapers. Built by Macrotermes michaelseni and related species, these remarkable structures can reach heights of 25 feet (7.6 meters) and feature multiple spires and turrets. The mounds are distinguished by their complex internal design, which includes royal chambers, fungus gardens, and an intricate network of tunnels and ventilation shafts. These structures are so well-engineered that internal temperatures remain within one degree Celsius, even when external temperatures fluctuate by up to 40 degrees.
