2. Smart Compass Navigation Technology
Combining magnetic orientation with clever flight algorithms, smart compass navigation marks a major improvement in drone RTH capability. This technology preserves exact directional awareness by means of a three-axis magnetometer even in cases of damaged GPS signals. Throughout the flight, the technology constantly adjusts itself to consider magnetic interference and ambient variables, therefore guaranteeing correct heading information. To offer redundant navigation data, smart compass systems also interface with inertial measurement units (IMUs), hence building a strong backup system for RTH operations. Particularly useful in metropolitan contexts or locations with significant electromagnetic interference, the system can identify magnetic abnormalities and automatically change to alternate navigation techniques as needed.
